For the 4th consecutive year, the Oak Cliff Film Festival, in proud partnership with TRG and For Oak Cliff, will conduct a filmmaking workshop for local high school students. It offers students the fundamentals of filmmaking and hands-on equipment training from some of OCFF’s most esteemed friends and alumni. In 2024, we expanded the workshop, and students completed two short films that were screened during the festival’s Student Shorts Block. This year’s workshop will take place over three Saturdays – March 8, April 5 and June 7 – and students will present their films at the final session. Led by Eric Jewell, film department chair at MediaTech Institute, the workshop will cover all the fundamentals of filmmaking, from writing and producing to directing and post-production.
